Peaceful, private camping and glamping on our family farm in Cumbria

We are open and taking bookings for 2024 and 2025. Our popular bell tent and private camping fields are open from Easter through to September each year and our Arctic cabin is open all year round. Located in between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, adjacent to Hutton Roof Crags SSSI and Farleton Knott SSSI, we are perfectly situated for walking, mountain biking, climbing, nature spotting and most importantly: relaxing. We are well set up for families, small groups and those looking for privacy and tranquility. We can also take exclusive hire bookings. Our site is based on a working dairy and sheep farm which means there may be livestock in adjacent fields to our pitches. We are dog friendly from May to February. We cannot accept dogs during March and April due to lambing time. We'd love to hear from you so please do get in touch with any questions.

Sustainable Camping

Proud to be partnered with the Greener Camping Club – our eco-responsible camp site offers unique, secluded pitches with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and instant access to public footpaths and bridleways.

Our site is based on a working dairy and sheep farm. This means there will be livestock adjacent to the pitches throughout the season. We are dog friendly from May to February. We are closed during March and April for lambing time, although we usually open for Easter weekend.

If you would love to come and would prefer to book a separate holiday for your four legged friend, there is also an amazing family-run dog boarding kennels just a 5 minute drive away from our site and we highly recommend Barking Mad for happy dog holidays!

What We Offer

Whether you’re looking for a private camping field with private facilities and heaps of space to roam, a few more home comforts in our en-suite Arctic cabin situated in a private garden or a bell tent tucked away in its own private field with space for additional campers, we’d like to think we have something tor everyone. Our site is perfect for outdoor-enthusiasts who are looking for a secluded and environmentally-friendly camping or glamping experience. For single camping bookings, please contact us for availability. The pitches are all in fields which you can only walk to or get to in a 4×4.

We are perfect for singles, couples, families of any size, groups of families all wanting to camp together… We welcome anyone who just wants to get away from it all for a few days and enjoy the beautiful surroundings!

Our check in days are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, but we can be flexible for last minute and mid week stays. Most of our stays are a minimum of 3 nights due to the off-grid nature of our site. However, please contact us if you are looking for a 2 night stay and we’ll do our best to help.

See Our Story for more information about the farm and our camping/ glamping offerings.
