About this listing

The Sheep Pen, our cosy Arctic cabin, was built in 2022 and benefits from en-suite facilities, so no need to venture outside in the middle of the night! The cabin sleeps up to 4 (2 adults, 2 children), is dog friendly and has a large, enclosed private garden with views towards Ingleborough, the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. Relax outdoors in the hammock or inside by the log burner, cook on the Kadai fire bowl, chat to the ponies who live next door and enjoy instant access to the surrounding fells.

  • Unique log cabin set in its own private, enclosed garden
  • Double bed with pocket sprung mattress
  • Two single bed options suitable for children or teenagers
  • En-suite toilet and shower facilities
  • Log burning cook stove – Dean Forge Dartmoor Baker W5
  • Kadai fire bowl/ BBQ

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

  • Yourselves, along with a sense of adventure and a ‘whatever the weather’ attitude – this is Cumbria after all!
  • An understanding and acceptance of the greener camping ethos: putting ‘green’ at the forefront of camping. We aim to create a quiet, eco-responsible, sustainable camping experience. We provide composting and recycling facilities on site and ask that our guests think carefully about what they need to bring: aiming to reduce waste and our combined impact on the environment. Please read our terms and conditions/ site rules for more information.
  • If you are travelling with children – please bring anything extra that they may need in terms of specific bedding, toys etc.
  • Local maps if you plan to go walking/ exploring.
  • Tea towels and bath/ hand towels.
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste.
  • Refillable water bottle.
  • Hot drinks flask if required.
  • Sensible footwear – ideally walking boots (absolutely no heels!)
  • Clothes and waterproofs – we’re based on the side of a fell and weather can be changeable even in summer, so come prepared and check the forecast before you travel.
  • Food and drinks – the nearest shop is 3 miles away and we only sell milk, cheese and eggs at the farm so please come fully prepared with everything you need for your stay.
  • Any toiletries that will not put down the sink e.g. hair wax/ moisturiser/ make-up – see above with regards to our eco-responsible products.
  • Charcoal/ wood if you envisage using a lot, although both are available to purchase on site.

WHAT NOT TO BRING

  • Too much – you’ll regret it! Unless you’re happy to leave spare provisions in your car. It’s a 5-10 minute walk from the car park to the private pitches.
  • A fear of the rain/ wind/ nature/ livestock/ starry skies/ wide open spaces!
