About this listing

Book your very own corner of this peaceful paradise. We still call it The Bull Copy but it’s been a very long time since a bull was kept in there! You may have to walk past the odd sheep or calf to get there, but the field isn’t used often and your ‘pitch’ is a large, fully-fenced area with private toilet, shower and washing up/ cooking facilities. Plenty of space for you to bring up to 5 tents and we provide an outdoor fire pit/ BBQ, picnic bench and hammock… You may even find you don’t venture out on the fells at all! There is a quiet bridleway on the fell, so expect the odd walker/ mountain biker in the background, but otherwise it’s yours and yours alone for the duration of your stay!

  • Space for up to 5 tents – private field camping
  • Perfect for small groups or a few families wanting to camp together
  • Fire pit/ BBQ
  • Gas cooking facilities
  • Private toilet and shower
  • Outdoor seating and hammock
  • £60 per night for up to 5 people
  • £10 pppn for extra guests up to a maximum of 12 people – please contact us if you are a few families and would like to book for more than 12 people.
  • One Greener Camping Club membership required per booking (or £12 annual membership fee if there are no current members in your group)
  • We welcome well-behaved dogs from May to September and The Bull Copy is fully fenced, however, we have to be super careful due to the close proximity of livestock at each pitch. There will be sheep/ horses/ cows in fields adjacent to your pitch.

FACILITIES

  • Private, modern and clean toilet and shower facilities.
  • Two picnic tables.
  • Hammock for relaxing in the sunshine.
  • Kadai BBQ/ fire pit with high stand, iron grill, tripod with hanging Kadai bowl and stand.
  • BBQ tools provided.
  • Wood and charcoal available to buy if required.
  • Gas cooking facilities.
  • Basic pots, pans, crockery and cutlery provided for 4 people. Kettle for use on gas stove.
  • Private washing up area.
  • Large Coleman cool box provided – stocked with ice packs when you arrive.
  • Eco-responsible/ biodegradable products provided by Eco Homes Supplies – please use our products if possible as we are an off-grid site and there is no mains drainage so we have to be extremely careful what we use in order to minimise any potential environmental impact.
  • The farm sells milk, cheese and eggs but other than that, the nearest shop is in Burton-in-Kendal which is 3 miles away – so come prepared with food. There are no takeaways or delivery services nearby.
  • Access to The Cop Out Shed – a shared shed with fridge/ freezer, gas cooking stove and electric charging points, for those not quite ready for a full off-grid experience. Please label all of your belongings and anything left in this shed is left at your own risk.
